Old Meeting House Montessori School
Welcome to OMHMS website

We appreciate your interest in the Old Meeting House Montessori School.  The information intends to provide you with basic information about our school operations.

The Old Meeting House Montessori School opened its doors in September 2000.

The school is funded entirely by tuition and fund raising activities.
Our curriculum is based on the concept of responsible freedom for the child within a Montessori prepared environment of stimulating, auto-educative, multi-sensory materials.

Each child is encouraged to grow at his/her own pace and level of interest.

The Montessori teaching method is an approach to learning based on the premise that a child learns best within an environment that supports each child's unique development.

In a Montessori class, children engage in interactive learning in an environment carefully prepared in which children can develop as unique individuals.

The goals of our school are to foster independence and to support children in discovering the world with a multitude of experiences offered in the classroom.

This classroom is designed to encourage children in their self-directed discovery of the world.  Interest based activities encourage children to develop a love of learning and trust in their own ability to learn.

Old Meeting House Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, cultural heritage, political belief, marital status, sexual orientation, or a disability.
